St. Paddy's and Easter Catch up

It totally threw me off this year to have St. Patrick's Day and Easter back to back. I was curious, who decides that any ways? This might be something everyone knows, but I don't. Who decides when the holidays are? Help me out on this would you?
Get ready, this post is a long one!
Sorry that the picture is the wrong way. I bet everyone else had a lovely green meal on the 17th too. It was a lot of fun for us since this year Ty knows his colors and he caught on to the idea. Now everytime I put anything in a green cup he says, "Happy Patrick's Day Mom!" We took a big green basket to Kev at work, which was a lot of fun, and we were all very festive in our choice, or better said, my choice, of clothes. And my dad can just deal with it. He told me the only thing he was going to do on that day was avoid all green. He's such a party pooper. I cooked dinner for them that night and they got a wonderfully green spread as well, so I forced him to have be a little green.Ty had way too many egg hunts this year. This was the ward one, with eggs everywhere! When they first said go, Ty took off and then his little friend was right behind him. Ty thought Mason was chasing him, so he kept running. He didn't stop for anything, not eggs and not candy. Finally we got his attention and told him to stop and grab some eggs, and then we couldn't get him to stop. He loved it.
Even Jordan got in on some of the action.

Next we went to Grandma and Grandpa Shaw's neighborhood hunt. This is what the boys did while they waited for the eggs to be hidden. For Jordo, this may have been the highlight of the day.
The boys enjoying their loot!
Last stop on Saturday was Grandma and Granpa Naylors. GG Naylor to Ty and Jordo (Great-Grandparents). These are Kev's mom's parents and they do a candy extravaganza every year in their back yard. Little Easter candy's everywhere and all the kids collect all they can.

Easter morning Ty had golf clubs waiting for him. For those of you that have seen him golf, he does pretty good for a two year old and his last set broke. We were waiting for the summer stuff to come out so we could get him some more. When he saw the stuff on the couch he stopped and said, "What is it Mom?" He's such a funny kid.
Jordo got a couple of balls so he can keep up with his brother. Ty was trying to sneak in on that too.

Hopefully everyone's Easter was as great as ours, even though it was a bit early this year.

AAAHHH! Sick again!

That's not aahh as in a sigh, that's AAAHHH as in it makes my crazy! Just when the weather starts to warm up and it looks like we are in the clear, my boys are sick again! They both got the gross nose and little cough. They are good to still be happy and play, but it is enough that don't sleep good and their little noses get sore from wiping them so much. I know all you parents know exactly what I am talking about and have been there, done that, but when you are in the thick of it, it seems like it will always be this way.
Oh well. Here's hoping they get over it quick and the warmer weather helps clear out some of the germs and bugs that are going around.

It's a Big Boy Bed!

First I must say, I loved and laughed at all the comments about scouting.

Next-We finally put Ty into a big boy bed and we went all the way and got bunk beds. We found some that can be seperated into two twins in case we aren't quite ready to do the top bunk thing when Jordo moves over, and these should last for a while. I guess with two boys there is no guarantee. It is a tight squeeze in our apartment bedroom, and what you can't see is a crib and another set of drawers. The boys love to play on the top, and Ty asks before bed and every nap, "Sleep up top Mom?" Luckily, the ladder comes off so we make sure we are there when they climb up. So far the transition has gone great. Ty was ready for a big boy bed and loves it.
On a cold day and not much to do we took an empty box and discovered if it was opened up and propped on Kev and some pillows, it made an excellent slide. Here's my dare devil two year old going down on his feet. He tried it every way possible. Here's some of our fun. (The next is a bit blurry, a true action shot)

More to come...

I know, I know, it has been quite some time since a new post. But I have an excuse! My calling in our ward for those of you that don't know, is Scout and Cub Committee Chairman. Most of you probably don't have any idea what that calling involves and neither did I, until I started doing it. It has been a good though. I have learned a lot and when it comes time for my boys to be in scouts, I might be of some good. But with the Cubs, we just had our annual Blue and Gold Banquet. Sorry, no pictures. I thought about it, but then once I got there and we were having electrical problems, someone was stuck at Costco with half our program and part of dinner, somehow taking a picture slipped my mind. But it is over! It went well and that has basically absorbed all my free time for the last few weeks.
So until the next, hopefully more exciting post, this will have to do. I will try to spice up our lives a little so we have fun things to post about. Hurray for spring!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I want holidays to be fun at our house, but what to do with two little boys on Valentine's Day? Little girls, I would assume, would love the pink, the hearts and all the frill. But little boys, definitely my wild and crazy little boys, could care less. So we compromised. We had a balloon extravaganza, that most kids would love, but the balloons were Valentine colors. And we made the traditional holiday sugar cookies with my mom. She does a good job of letting Ty get truly involved and by the end he has tasted most the cookies he's decorated and he's wearing everything. She is a very good Grandma. We don't have pictures of that, but here are a few of our balloon bash!

We hope everyone enjoyed Valentine's Day as much as our little family did.

Ty loved running and jumping into a pile of balloons and watching them go everywhere.

Jordo had just woken up and was trying to take it all in.We put all the balloons into the corner and made our own balloon pit. Two days later, Ty is still jumping into it and burying himself and then finding himself again! He jumps out and yells, "Oh, here I am Mommy!"
