A Day with Ty and Jordo

Winter is a very rough time on my two very active boys. They need room to run and kick balls. So pretty much you do what you can to stay entertained. Here are a few of our attempts to keep from getting the winter blues.
Our front room becomes a baseball, soccer and football field, even a golf course. Ty hits, kicks, throws and does it all over again. Today was when I would pitch and he would hit every ball we own with a baseball bat. Then we would gather them up and start over. You can't see the ones down the hall, in the kitchen and on the stairs.
Ty has figured out play dough! For a while there it wasn't a good idea because he would end up eating it. But now he is a pro, and gets very creative. He loves this as I am sure most kids do, and once he is bored with yellow, we pull out the red and it is like a whole new game!
This is what Jordo likes to do while Ty does the play dough thing. He is a climber and doesn't seem to have much fear. A few of his other favorites are pulling all the movies and DVDs out, getting into the cereal or pounding on the bathtub.
That's my Ty.
Everyone here at our house will be thrilled when it warms up a bit. We will be outside just as soon as we can. Here's hoping spring comes soon!

Another Milestone!

Everyday there is something new with my two very energetic, little boys. A lot of my days are keeping Jordo away from outlets and trying to save him from falling too hard, playing baseball and puzzles with Ty (which he would much rather be doing with his Dad). So needless to say, my attention gets split wherever it is needed. But we've reached another milestone! Jordan is finally getting old enough to 'play'. I came into the room the other day and saw this:

Hurray for brothers that can be buddies! (Below: Ty really was having fun, he just gets goofy in front of the camera)

Ty was showing Jordo how to play with his farm and Jordo was completely fascinated with Ty. It is so great that they will actually play together. There are still times when Ty feels like his space has been invaded, but then again, there will always be those times. Ty is such a good big brother, he loves making Jordan laugh and Jordo lights up when he sees Ty. This is just one of the many things I love about being a mom to my two great boys.

Sledding Fun!

This past week we took Ty sledding with Kev's parents and his sister Rachel and her husband Mike. That was a lot of fun. Ty was a bit hesitant to start with but with a little encouragement and some sledding with Dad, he eventually warmed right up to it. He even went down a couple of times alone. As Ty would say, "By my-yelf!" It was a lot of fun to spend the time with family and really great to have fun with Rach and Mike, who were visiting from Florida.

Besides Kev having a lot of fun, he was doing a great job of convincing Ty that it really was fun.

Ty with his Grandma Shaw.
We also had a great Christmas with my family and I was supposed to do an update on that, but I seem to have come away with no pictures of that. And I don't know how that happened, so as soon as I track those down, I will share all that fun.

Happy New Year to Everyone!!!

Merry Christmas!

This was a very memorable and wonderful Christmas for us and we hope it was for you all too. Here are some of our highlights.

Christmas Eve this year was at Kev's grandparents, and yes what you are seeing is one of the highlights. Everyone enjoys a festive enchilada with your choice of egg or no egg. Delicious!
Here are the boys in their new pajamas, thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Shaw. Ty loves his! If you can't tell, they have tigers on them and now each morning he fights and cries about taking them off. He would wear them all day, everyday, if we would let him.

Here is the whole Naylor clan listening to the traditional, "Pixie in the Chimney" read by Grandma Naylor. Even Kev's brother on his mission asked for a tape of her reading this, it just wouldn't be Christmas without it.

Christmas morning at the Shaw home isn't Christmas morning without orange rolls and Toaster Strudels.
You would think this was Kev showing Ty how to use one of Ty's presents, but it isn't. Kev gets a Nerf gun every year, this is the one thing that makes it Christmas for him. I think Ty will like this tradition.

Jordan had a great Christmas too. Here he is with his blanket from Grandma Shaw. (Ty got one too.)
This was the fun we had at my parents. My dad gave my mom a lazy boy and the box was a hit. It is still being used more than anything else. We will finish Christmas with my family Friday night when they all get here, so there will be a follow up post about that.

We had a perfect Christmas this year. Ty was the perfect age and Jordo is all smiles. It was great to spend the day with family and have Kev home from work for a couple extra days! Now we can all relax a little a start planning for next year. Happy Holidays!

Four Spectacular Years!

Four years ago, today, I married my high school sweetheart, best friend and love of my life. It is amazing to think it has already been four years. We have done so much, come so far and every day has been amazing. We now have two beautiful little boys who add so much to the perfect life we have together. I know in no time it will be another four and who knows where we will be and what we will be doing then! But I do know that it will only get better.

Thanks to my wonderful husband. I love you more each day. Everday I am thankful we were married and sealed in the temple, knowing that we will not only be together for the rest of our lives, but for all eternity.
