Olympic Fever

At our house we have loved having the Olympics to watch and are big fans of this ultimate sporting event. Today I was watching the cross country skiing sprint and the boys sat down with me. The next thing I knew, they had their 'skis' (aka slippers) and 'poles' (aka golf clubs), and were skiing all over the kitchen.

Here's the action shot.

Here are my future olympians! I love the creativity of kids.

The Rising Dough Trampoline

Today I was trying to help my roll dough out by putting it in the sun. The boys were playing on the floor there too, and one thing led to another.

Sorry the lighting is terrible. Here is Jordo bouncing his animal off the plastic wrap. (The rhino has bounced up and is in the middle of his shirt)

Here's the compromise. In order to save my plastic wrap and roll dough, I made the boys miniature versions with cereal bowls.

And then, they noticed they could 'trap' their animals. Oh the possibilities of fun with plastic wrap and a bowl.

And here is my beautiful Brooke who was watching all the action from the couch. She is starting to smile in response to people now and it is so fun. I wish I could tell you all how much I adore this little girl.

What we've been up to...

Not much really. With cold weather and a new baby, we mostly stay home and play.

This is what happens when I leave my cub scout bag out and go take a shower. It all managed to stay on paper though.
Here's little Brookie getting ready for a bath. Isn't that a perfect face all bundled?

Jordo always falls asleep on his back with his hands on his tummy. I thought this was so funny when I went to tuck him in one night. Perfect angel by night, and by day?... Love this boy, but not quite so calm and peaceful when he's awake.

Brooke's Newest Skill

Brooke proves to be an excellent little bubble blower. Asleep or awake.

And just so you can all see how cute she looks in this sporty little suit. Pictures just don't do her justice, she is so much cuter in person. Perfect, really!

Daddy time!

So with all the craziness of a new baby, the one big plus was having Kev home all the time. With the holidays it worked out that he got almost two full weeks, which was awesome. The boys soaked up every second and Kev was the perfect Dad, doing everything he could with them while he could. Here are a few highlights....

Ty could be outside all day, every day, all year. He checks the window every morning to see if there is still snow outside and if any new snow has fallen. They played outside a lot and
of course built all sorts of things.

The traditional snowman with a spray painted face and small head carefully constructed by Ty. A snow dog that they have been begging for ever since they saw it in a Christmas book, and

Don't forget the snow turtle, also made by Ty. (They also built a fort, but we didn't get pics)

Then a sledding trip. Jordo stayed home on this one for some Mommy time since sledding isn't really his thing and he would have gotten tired real fast, but Ty couldn't get enough.

Kev said he was running up the hill and sledding down as fast as he could. A huge improvement for Ty since he sort of has a reputation of being a little wimpy with these kind of things. But he gets tougher every day, kind of.

There was much more at home just playing games, ball, wrestling and anything else they could think of. I love you Kev! Thanks for being the perfect Dad and doing all you can to make my days easier.
