SAN DIEGO!!

I know we just posted, but I didn't want to wait too long before showing off our amazing trip to San Deigo. Kev and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary (a few months early) and took off to San Diego for a few days. We left the day after Kev's last final, and he started summer semester the day after we got home. It was basically our only window of opportunity.

It was so fun to go and leave everything else behind, including our two darling little boys. We missed them, but they were in very capable hands (Thanks a million times, Mom and Dad!) and it was just a big party for them. I don't think we were missed much with how much fun Grandma and Grandpa are.

We got into San Diego Friday morning and our first event was that night at Petco Park for a San Diego Padres game. When we get old, Kev wants to travel the states visiting MLB baseball parks, watching games and eating hot dogs.

We were sort of high up, but still had a great view of the game. The only downside was that we were apparently in the crazy high school and drunk college student section. As people cleared out below us, we moved down a few rows to avoid getting beer spilled on us. But the game was awesome! The Padres couldn't pull a win for us, but it was still fun watching and eating a delicious ballgame dog.

Saturday morning we went to the San Diego temple. We were able to do a session and help with some sealings and it was really neat. It is always fun to see different temples and admire their design and detail, and this was no exception. In fact, Kev and I both agree that this may be our new favorite temple. Everything was so beautiful. If you ever get the chance to even walk the grounds of this temple, do it. It is amazing!

Of course we had to hit the beach. (Neither of us are in this pic, so don't look too hard.) This is actually a picture of the cove that was at the part of the La Jolla Beach that we went to. We didn't brave the freezing waters, but hanging out in the sand and watching the waves was good enough. This was inside the cove.

Monday was Sea World!

Who doesn't love a day watching dolphins and killer whales jump and flip out of the water?

Pretty cool, huh? We even went on some new rides that they have at Sea World which were a little wet but a lot of fun. Except the virtual helicopter ride through the Arctic. That made me a sick, but the others were great.

Then Tuesday we went home. It was fun to go and have a break, but we missed our boys and had to get back to real life. Ty gave us a warm welcom at the airport, running right to us . It was nice to know he still needed us. Jordo actually wanted to stay with my dad for a while, but he came around pretty quick.

Maybe Hawaii for #10?

Sounds like fun. I think we're heading to the beach this coming weekend. But, when it's only 1.5 hours away, why not go?!

I am so glad you had a great time! Definitely needed! Congrats to Kevin on doing so well last semester...on to the next! When Dave and I did a session at the San Diego temple, we were the only people in the session!! It is so beautiful. Good thing you took a trip now, somehow I think you could still manage one in December when it is the date of your anniversary!

Those are fun pictures. I LOVE Southern California. Matt served in Riverside and my little bro was stationed in San Diego inbetween deployments. Anyway- Sea World is one of my favorite places and you can't beat a ballpark hot dog. I'm glad you guys got away just the 2 of you. I'm sure a break was nice for Kevin too.

I am so jealous!! I guess the pressure is on Brad to make our 5 year anniversary special. But I can't believe that you left your kids. I don't know if I can ever leave them. I am addicted to them just as much as Halle is addicted to me.

That looks like you had a blast. Sorry about the Padres. You know my cousin, Wally Joyner, is their batting coach. To bad they've been struggling! We saw them in AZ but they lost that one to.

I LOVE Sea World, and the beach and warm weather. I'm jealous. Happy Anniversary.....looks like you had a great time together. I can't believe it's already been 5 years.
